The pressure displayed on your barometer shows in most cases the pressure in your altitude. These data however cannot be used in our calculations because we don’t know whether the data on the barometer are a high or a low pressure. In the calculation we, therefore, use the pressure reduced to the sea level. The displayed pressure is this particular value.
